CDC CONFIRMS VAPE ILLNESS VICTIMS VAPED THC
The CDC has finally revealed some of its results after months of drama and discussion regarding the probable causes of a lung disease that has afflicted certain vapers. While there isn't conclusive evidence that vaping isn't harmful, the CDC's figures on THC products are startling. Of the 867 patients who became sick as a result of their vaping, 86 percent acknowledged to using THC-containing products rather than tobacco, 52 percent said they used both tobacco and THC products, and 34 percent said they primarily vaped THC.
"The data continues to indicate to THC-containing drugs," said Anne Schuchat, the CDC's main deputy director.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG
While there was plenty of evidence that THC products were to blame in this case, the CDC has now confirmed that nicotine vaping isn't to blame for the recent epidemic of lung disease that has swept the country. And, given that many of these reports originate from states where THC is banned, you have to wonder how many more individuals would come forward and claim they were using THC if they didn't have to worry about the legal ramifications of ingesting what their state deems an unlawful substance.
The powers that be, particularly the mainstream media, have done everything they can to mislead the public on this subject. A research conducted by USA Today revealed how ignorant the public is, with a staggering proportion of respondents believing that smoking cigarettes is less harmful than vaping. We at VaporDNA have always stated that more study on the impacts of vaping is needed, but it is critical for vapers and the broader public that we move forward on the basis of facts rather than hyperbole and a frenetic 24-hour news cycle.
YOUNGER DEMOGRAPHICS AT RISK
We've already discussed the "teen vaping epidemic," and it's essential to remember that when we refer to "young people" in this context, we mean anyone who is of legal smoking age. That said, approximately half of all instances of this new lung disease affected persons under the age of 25, with the majority of them being guys. This figure is bolstered by the fact that approximately 80% of all patients are under the age of 35, indicating that young people are bearing the brunt of the disease.
The CDC Director, Dr. Robert R. Redfield, stated, "It is clear from today's study that these lung injuries disproportionately harm young people."
USE TRUSTED RETAILERS ONLY
The CDC report is excellent news for vapers who don't use THC, but it's always good to remind people that many of these instances stem from illegal goods. While the murky area in which THC currently exists makes this an unusual circumstance, you should never ingest a concentrate product like as vape juice from someone who does not have the proper qualifications. Always buy from reputable retailers like as VAPORDNA and consume responsibly.
